My name is Lemuel Nelson - social entrepreneur, founder and chief executive of LeminEnterprise, managing director of Leminc Ltd, designer, writer and athlete. I am 20 years old, raised and living in Handsworth, Birmingham.
My dream is to set an example to young people through achievement and success; to show how channelling energy towards positivity and our talents offers more than allowing our egos to remain uncontrolled, which can result in negative street trends, gang culture and even loss of lives. By sharing my experience of living within a gang cultured environment I hope to help others to understand their barriers, to overcome them and strive for excellence.
When you are young and see adults climb into BMWs and Mercedes, it’s so easy to say ‘I’m getting one of those when I’m older’, but reality soon shows it’s not as simple as it seems. Success and achievement certainly does not get served on a plate, and when we are really hungry for something we find ourselves doing anything to get there. But the means does not always justify the end.
This is me - ambitious, talented, self motivated and blessed. I love keeping busy, exploring ways to perfect and create new skills. I try to balance my hobbies and careers to achieve to my highest possible level; I give gratitude for who I am and for who I am I couldn’t have been without my beautiful mistakes , God’s grace on me, and my Dad.
I have dreams, goals and aspirations just like the majority. But limiting myself to aspirations of success and fame like just another disposable celebrity defeats who I am and my purpose. |

When I wake each morning, I get an adrenalin rush and feel my belly squirm with butterflies with the will to succeed.
